In this case, having a "Jerkmate rank" means you're a pro at, well... solo sessions, especially when it comes to things like gooning or edging. The meme blew up thanks to a bunch of viral TikTok videos in late 2024.
On August 27, 2024, X user @nohoesnik_ tweeted, "lf duo for jerkmate ranked."
The tweet didn’t get much attention, but it’s the first known mention of "Jerkmate ranked" online. It's not clear if the idea came from another meme or video, but TikTok clips joking about Jerkmate had been popping up since at least April 2024.
The first big viral post featuring "Jerkmate ranked" showed up on Instagram on December 1, 2024. Posted by @waifu.shojo, the video featured Venom with the caption, "When ur playing ranked jerkmate with bro and all of the goon sauce combines to make a walking specimen of bro.
The post racked up over 20,100 likes in three weeks, sealing Jerkmate Ranked as an inside joke across social media."
